CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR wenaCel® SENSITIVE ORTHOPAEDIC MATTRESS

Before initial use

Air your mattress for 12 to 24 hours before initial use. New mattresses may have an unpleasant smell when they are first opened, however, the smell will quickly evaporate. This is absolutely normal and completely harmless.

Regular turning

Turn your mattress over and around at least twice per year. This means that the mattress should be turned over, as in top to bottom, and around – as in head to toe. The wenaCel® sensitive mattress has two practical straps on each lateral side with which the mattress can easily be turned.

Room climate

Ensure that the bedroom offers a healthy climate. We recommend an air temperature between 16 and 20 °C and a humidity level between 40 and 60 %. Tip: The best way to air a room is to open the windows several times per day for periods of around 10 to 15 minutes.

Good aeration is important

Air your room daily after getting out of bed. Throw back the duvet to allow the duvet and the mattress to air. The bed shouldn’t be made (or covered with a bedspread) until at least two to three hours after getting up so that moisture, which the body has lost during the night, is able to evaporate from the mattress and bedding. Ensure that an unrestricted air supply is also provided from below the mattress. Bedspreads should not be used, particularly if they hang down to the floor, because they can impede an evaporation of moisture.
In addition, the mattress should also be removed from the bed itself, several times per year, in order to aerate it outdoors. It is important to make sure that the mattress is well aerated in order to avoid mould stains or mould formation.

Cleaning: Wash the covers regularly

It is important that the mattress cover or tick is washed regularly – not only for allergy sufferers! Observe the care instructions when doing so. Mattress covers should not be cleaned with vacuum cleaners or carpet beaters, otherwise quilted layers may be displaced or the filling fibres may be lost.
The wenaCel® sensitive mattress cover can be washed at 60°C in the delicate wash cycle with the aid of a mild liquid detergent (without brightening agents). Hanging up to dry on a clothes line prevents shrinking. Only wash on part of the cover at once. Caution: the wenaCel® sensitive mattress cover is not suitable for drying in the tumble dryer!

Tip: Only wash on part of the cover at once. The cover dries relatively quickly by air drying, but if it doesn’t dry quickly enough you can still sleep on the other part of the cover.

Bed frame and bed base

When buying a bed base or slatted frame, ensure that is ideally suited to your mattress and that it offers a sufficient air supply to the mattress. Using a defective or unsuitable form of bed base can negatively influence the service lifespan of the mattress.
An ideal bed frame also affords a high level of air circulation. If you own a bed with bedding boxes or drawers, we recommend that you remove the boxes or drawers for several hours each day in order to ensure that the mattress is well aerated from below.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR wenaCel® SENSITIVE DUVETS

Washing the duvet

The wenaCel® sensitive duvets are easy-care products. They can be washed at 60°C in the delicate wash cycle and they are also suitable for drying in a tumble dryer. Use a mild liquid detergent (without brightening agents), but no fabric softeners. You should wash your duvet at least twice per year in order to ensure hygienic conditions.

Aerating and shaking

Regular aeration and shaking of the duvet makes sure that the duvet stays fresh and cosy. All you need to do is to shake and throw back the duvet in the morning.

Change bedclothes regularly

An adult loses an average of around a half a litre of liquid each night. Bedclothes protect the duvet by absorbing a part of this moisture. This is why it is necessary to regularly change the bedclothes. Experts recommend that bedclothes are changed every two weeks. Those who perspire heavily or suffer from a house mite dust allergy should change the bedclothes on a weekly basis.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR wenaCel® SENSITIVE PILLOW

Washing the pillow

The wenaCel® sensitive pillow can be washed at 60°C in the delicate wash cycle and is also suitable for drying in a tumble dryer. Use a mild liquid detergent for washing. Ensure that the detergent does not contain brightening agents, as these can cause unattractive stains. Do not use fabric softeners. You should wash your pillow at least twice per year in order to ensure hygienic conditions.

Tip: The pillowcase (or outer shell) can be washed separately or even together with the inlet. Important: the filling should always be washed in the inlet.

Aerating and shaking

It is important that the entire bed is well aerated. We recommend that you shake your pillow before aerating the bedroom in the mornings. This ensures that the filling is well aerated.

Change the pillowcase regularly

Due to the fact that the human body loses lots of moisture during the night, we recommend that you should regularly change the bedclothes, every one or two weeks, depending on the season and how heavily you may perspire.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR wenaCel® SENSITIVE ORTHOPAEDIC PILLOW

Washing the pillow

The cover or outer shell of wenaCel® sensitive orthopaedic pillow can be washed at 60°C in the delicate wash cycle with the aid of a mild liquid detergent (without brightening agents). It is not suitable for drying in a tumble dryer! The cover is not waterproof!
Caution: the cold foam core of the orthopaedic pillow cannot be washed!
You should wash your pillow cover at least twice per year in order to ensure hygienic conditions.

Aerate regularly

The wenaPur® cold foam core should be aerated at regular intervals.

CARE AND USE INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR wenatex® ALPINE HERB REGENERATION INSERT

How to use the alpine herb regeneration insert

For correct use, the alpine herb regeneration insert is placed between the wenaPur® mattress core and the wenaCel® sensitive cover. We recommend that the regeneration insert is used for a period of three weeks per quarter year. After the three week period, simply turn over the mattress so that the alpine herb regeneration insert is on the bottom side.

We advise against use exceeding the recommended three week period, otherwise a familiarisation effect may occur and the effectiveness of the herbs will subsequently lesson.

Aerate regularly

The alpine herb regeneration insert should be aerated at regular intervals. All you need to do is to open the zip of your wenaCel® sensitive mattress cover and take out the regeneration insert. Ensure that the regeneration insert always remains dry!

Care instructions for the alpine herb regeneration insert

The alpine herb regeneration insert cannot be washed. It is protected by the wenaCel® sensitive mattress cover, which prevents any soiling.
